Welcome,

My Name: is Marc Videtto, I am a multimedia designer living in the Philadelphia area. I have been a freelance designer professionally since 2006. This website is intended to be a summary of my qualifications as well as a portfolio of independent projects to date. Feel free to check out some of my works which vary from live web sites to ongoing interface designs.

My Experience: My work experience consists of a year of contract work for Lockheed Martin from 06’-07’ after completing an internship with them. At Lockheed I worked with fellow SIM developers on NAVY training simulations. In conjunction with subject matter experts, instructional designers and 3D artists we created some really amazing stuff. Unfortunately, due to the sensitivity to the information I cannot include examples in my portfolio. Looking back on that experience, I was lucky enough to work with some really talented developers and reach some ridiculous levels of programming in javaScript.

My Education: I graduated from The Art Institute of Philadelphia in December of 2006 with a bachelor degree in Multimedia/Web Design. I decided to rededicate myself to a career in multimedia as it combined my passion of artistic expression with my affinity for personal computing. Prior, I received a bachelor of arts in History from Western New England College in 2000. If I took anything from it, the degree in History compliments my skills in multimedia in giving me an advantage in research and development and a solid basis for logical reasoning.

My Skills: Very familiar with Windows based OS's as well as the hardware associated with them. I am familiar in the use of all the programs in the Adobe Suite. The majority of my work comes from primarily Dreamweaver and Photoshop. As for backend work I use PHP/MySql mainly because they are free. I am well versed in JavaScript and Actionscript from my days at Lockheed Martin and have a strong understanding in DOM. Everything else is on my resume.

Amanda and Neil's Wedding Website

  • URL: www.marcvidetto.com/aan/index.php
  • Launch Date: 2009-08-12
  • Project Synopsis: Amanada and Neil needed an informational wedding website for their destination wedding in Punta Cana. Full creative freedom on this website was a welcome change of pace as I was able to explore a more design centered approach. I also took advantage of .png support for newer browsers, and decided to use a background with transparency. Getting it to appear in IE6 was a bit trickier but after some javaScript and CSS manipulation it is fully viewable.

J.W. Morrison Equipment

  • URL: www.morrisonlifts.com
  • Launch Date: 2008-11-07
  • Project Synopsis: The project for JW Morrison Equipment was to provide the forklift company a website that displayed a professional design, a dynamic inventory and a backend to edit that information. Along with advanced searching tools the website included in-depth back end integration that included featured forklifts and automatic resizing of uploaded images. This was of the more intensive projects I worked on as I got to do some cool stuff with PHP after a long hiatus. This was also the first website I used TinyButStrong template engine for the framework which made site integration and development a considerably easier.

7csonline.com

  • URL: www.7csonline.com
  • Launch Date: 2008-05-26
  • Project Synopsis: 7csonline.com was the second website I had built for the expanding janitorial company. Their desire for a new professional design, an in-depth job application process and a robust backend made this an exciting project. With the information gathered from the website 7c's could automatically forward information for background check, complete I-9 forms and place potential employees in the best geographic location. This website also featured a separate manager login that had multiple permission types that allowed different management teams to share data that was pertinent to their respective positions.

FatJoesGuide.com

  • URL: www.fatjoesguide.com
  • Launch Date: 2007-12-01
  • Project Synopsis: FatJoesGuide.com was my senior project at AIPH. The idea was to create an informative restaurant guide to Philadelphia. This was complimented by the colorful commentary by Fat Joe, your stereotypical South Philly guy who loves cheesesteaks and booze. Anyways, the launch date above reflects the minor redesign I preformed in 07'. I still like the idea and the design I just lost interest in spending all my cash in restaurants, maybe I will go back one day.

Ocean City Water Sports

  • URL: www.marcvidetto.com/ocnjwatersports/template.htm
  • Launch Date: 2007-10-16
  • Project Synopsis: Ocean City Water Sports is a project that is still currently under construction. The website was supposed to incorporate a new company logo, rental information and water based sports information for potential Jersey Shore vacationers. It's a shame when a project goes stagnant for so long time while both parties have already invested a reasonable amount of time and money. The launch date reflects the last major update to the project. Hopefully this project will resume soon.

Tori's Restaurant

  • URL: www.marcvidetto.com/toris/index.php
  • Launch Date: 2007-02-01
  • Project Synopsis: This project for Tori's Restaurant was a redesign from the original Brickhouse website I completed back in college. The website took advantage of the important features from the original including 360' tours and comments to the owner. The design reflects the new updated interior and logo that was designed for them by a 3rd party. Unfortunately, Tori's is no longer in business so this website is currently running from my website is all I have to remember their great food and atmosphere.

GaltOceanUrgentCare.com

  • URL: www.marcvidetto.com/galtOcean/index.php
  • Launch Date: 2006-07-18
  • Project Synopsis: Galt Ocean Urgent Care was a custom website design for an urgent care provider in Florida. I developed their website while still in school at AIPH and was a great example of what can be achieved through DHTML. If you visit the website you will notice that when you click on a link the information is changed by a retracting and expanding piece of paper. This motion was achieved through CSS and Javascript rather than Flash which I thought was pretty cool. Unfortunately, the business is no longer around so the website resides on my server.

Tori's Brickhouse Restaraunt

  • URL: www.marcvidetto.com/torisbrickhouse/home.php
  • Launch Date: 2005-12-15
  • Project Synopsis: The original Tori's Brickhouse website was developed back in 05' while I was attending AIPH. As a result, I got to exercise some new techniques I learned at school such as 360' panoramas, repeating backgrounds, and dynamic information. They loved the website and so did I, mostly because I actually paid for something in college.
